“Patriarchy” is a word I would like to destroy for My Self and yet make my own. We live in a Patriarchy, and it won’t be changing for a while- so why not grab it by the balls and fuck it? The songs on this album are about me, Actually Huizenga, a female human, dealing with labels and expectations thrown upon my body, while also enjoying the bacchanalia and joyous prosperity that I have as an American in a First World situation.”

“Patriarchy” fickt das Patriarchat. In ihrer Musik verhandelt Sängerin Actually Huizenga Sex, Gewalt, Körpernormen und gleichzeitig singt sie über ihre Lust und Privilegien, die sie dem Patriarchat abringt. Playboy Mexiko hat “Patriarchy” mal als irgendwo zwischen obskurem Metal und Soft Porn beschrieben, whatever. Genre tags wie hypnotic goth pop oder demonic romance könnten die Liste ergänzen.

Mit “Patriarchy” spielen “Left For Pleasure”, ein dark wave Projekt aus Berlin, die eben ihr Debutalbum mit Detriti Records veröffentlicht haben. EBM/ synth punk.
